利用极限的定义证明

(1)  $\lim\limits_{x\rightarrow\infty}\dfrac{x+1}{2x}=\dfrac{1}{2}$

 

 

(2)   $\lim\limits_{x\rightarrow\infty}\dfrac{x^2-1}{x-1}=2$

$\forall\ \varepsilon>0$, $\exists\delta=\varepsilon$, 当 $0 < |x-1| <\delta$ 时,

\biggl|\frac{x^2-1}{x-1}-2\biggr|=|x+1-2|=|x-1| < \delta=\varepsilon,
\]

故 $\lim\limits_{x\rightarrow 1}\dfrac{x^2-1}{x-1}=2$.
